Everyone has those friends that like to make complete idiots of themselves in public, right? Or at least try to make themselves noticeable in a completely stupid and idiotic way? I know I do.
Today, my friend Rick phoned me and asked me if I wanted to go to the pool with him. Deciding to get out of the house for a change, I eagerly accepted his invitation. I awaited for him to come and pick me up, so I turned my radio on full blast and listened to some music until he did.
And so, eventually, he arrives, but in the middle of a really good song. So I was slightly annoyed, but I decided that there would be another time for that. So, off we went.
On the way there, I thought I was going to die, or something close to it. He has a 2 year old brother, so we had to listen to little kid songs on the way there. I really wonder how he's able to live with it.
Not too much more time passed before we arrived at the pool. We both go get changed, and I find him waiting for me just outside of the men's change rooms. First thing he makes a comment on, which is why I point out that he makes such a moron out of himself in public, is about all the people dubbed as 'fat' that he is seeing.
I think he said it enough times to get the whole concept drilled right into my brain. I understood it, yes, but he repeated it anyways. One time he must have said it loud enough for people to hear it. Quite embarassing to be around him at this time, as you can clearly see.
After about an hour, we decide to start heading home. But his mom couldn't pick us up, so we had to start walking home, dripping slightly, in -20 degree weather. It was a half hour walk, and I wasn't exactly prepared. Rick offered me his jacket, thank goodness. He's used to walking in subzero temperatures, he told me. I thanked him, and so we made our way home.
Halfway home, there was a point where my legs were completely numb, I felt like I had no ears, and my face literally stung, and I was so cold that I had little drips of snot hanging down my nose .. Since I forgot to dry my hair before I left, it basically hardened. You could see little bits of ice on it as well. If you tried to touch it, it felt pretty icy. And being the idiot I am, I decide to see if it snaps.
Sure, enough it does. Mom wasn't exactly pleased.
